Virginia Transportation Modeling and Accessibility Program
Welcome to the Transportation Modeling & Accessibility Program site!
The Modeling and Accessibility section provides technical expertise for the Transportation Planning Branch in travel demand modeling (TransCAD/CUBE Voyger), Accessibility, Smart Scale process (congestion mitigation of new or major facility improvement and Accessibility), implement NHTS (national household Transportation Survey) and various big data statistical analysis for model development, VISSIM technical support, and NEPA traffic forecasting support.
We provide transportation modeling expertise to the Metropolitan Planning Organizations and municipalities within Virginia. We develop, maintain and update technical modeling tools to facilitate the analysis of the existing transportation system through capacity analysis, multimodal alternatives, land use and transportation interactions, Air quality conformity, EIS/EA support, and project level travel forecasts. Direct the development of complex multimodal travel demand models on local, regional, and statewide basis.
We also provide Accessibility expertise by working on integration of GIS tools and big data technologies into transportation plan development, and technical support on VISSIM model for different project level analysis.
